The device filters up to 220 ml of water from the air per day and collects it in its 0.5 litre capacity tank. By using a Peltier element, the Shetland 600 is extremely energy efficient - only using 22 watts of electricity - and is also very quiet. The device operates until a sensor detects that the water tank is full, at which point it automatically turns off. Once the tank has been emptied - perhaps using the water for watering houseplants - it will start working again. Two LEDs clearly indicate whether the unit is in operation or whether the water tank needs to be emptied.
